12 week appointment!!

I just got home from my 12 week appointment and it went well for the most part. I heard the LO's heart beat!! 174 bpm... so exciting! It was quiet but I could hear it. The doctor said everything looks good and most of my blood work came back good. I found out I'm RH- so I guess I'll need to get some type of shot. Has anyone else had this? I also tested positive for group b strep and was prescribed with antibiotics. I'm not so worried about the RH-, but I am about the group b strep. Has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone know anything about this and if everything will be fine if I'm on antibiotics?? Thanks!

Not sure about the RH shots, but I know you have one around 20 or so weeks and another after you deliver.

I tested positive for Group B Step, but I was only tested at 36 weeks (with a swab of my lady bits) and I had to get an antibiotic drip during labor. Nothing before then though.

I thought they didn't test for the group b strep until delivery was imminent? My sister just got tested and she's 37 weeks. She was positive and went on antibiotics because when she delivers, it can pass to the baby and cause pnuemonia. I don't get the reasoning for treating it at 11 weeks? I wouldn't want to take un-needed antibiotics, not b/c of pregnancy but just in general.

Group b is nothing to worry about, most women have it.
