Back from IVF consult
Thank you all so much for the good wishes below. The appt went really well. First of all, the RE came out to the waiting room himself to get us and introduced himself as Michael. Nice touch. He's cute too. He went through the general process, asked a few questions about our history, and answered all of our questions.
It looks like I am officially qualified for the IVF trial so that means it's all FREEEEEE! That includes u/s, b/w, procedures, and meds. They will be testing a new form of Follistim so I either will get the old follistim which I already respond well to or the new one which is just designed to be longer acting (one shot lasts a full week, instead of daily shots). It even will include a frozen cycle - even if the first try is successful I can use what we (hopefully) freeze for a second try before 2012.
I have to do a Clomid challenge and a hysteroscopy in the office before we get started so that will hopefully be next cycle. That gives us this current cycle and at least one more to try on our own. Obviously I'm still hoping to avoid the IVF, but I feel much better about everything after having met with the doctor.

I know!!! I can't believe I was able to get in to the study. Thanks to JennyTom for telling me about it on the IF board. The timing was just perfect since the study is just starting now.
The new Follistim is pretty cool - you take it once and it lasts 7 days. But with the study you have to keep taking placebo shots so that it remains a double blind study. No big deal since I'm used to those now, but it will be a nice change for people dealing with this in the future.
