If you are brave (or desperate) and really want to poop do this... go to CVS and buy a bag of the sugar free chocolates. Eat 2-3 servings. Sit back and prepared to never leave the toilet.
Yikes! Poor thing. Drink more water, eat dried prunes, lots of salad, drink apple juice, maybe even have a cup of coffee. Sometimes I massage my intestines to get things moving- I run my fingertips from the base of my belly in a clockwise motion around the edges of my belly {to the right, then up, over the top, down the left}. That works almost every time. Feel better.

Be careful with this. This could put you in early labor as well.

Really? Why's that? My doctor told me to try sugar free candy if I was getting a chocolate urge (I'm boderline GD)

The constant cramping will sometimes put you into labor...kinda like what castor oil does
I have IBS and had severe pain from constipation. My practice recommended Miralax, which has worked like a charm. Recently I stopped taking it because I had a sudden major change in bowel habits.
This might sound stupid - but blueberries have been working really well for me. Lots of water and then blueberries. By the next morning I'm ready to rock, even if its been 4-5 days. Good luck - it really is such an awful feeling...
Stool softeners did nothing for me. But two Fiber one bars got things moving (with some gas pains) and since then I just have one a day (before bed) and I'm good to go.
Prunes helped, too but my gas was WICKED disgusting from them.
The only thing that has worked for me is drinking Powerade Zero. I have NO idea what is in it that makes me go...but I've had regular, good bowel movements for the last 10 days since I started drinking it. Good luck!

Oh I was there a couple weeks ago. All Bran bars, lots of fruit, and lots of water were the trick for me. (I was quite happy to find out the All Bran bars didn't even taste that bad!)
Re: Need help...major constipation!
Fleet enema. They are really hard to give yourself and take about 8 to 12 hours to work. It's a bottle of mineral oil basically.
Or
a glycerine suppository. They'll take ten minutes but, will not cure the constipation. I'll get you to go once if you really have to go.
when did you start taking the softeners...my bottle says should produce bm within 72 hours....if it has been more than 72 hours I would call your OB
in the meantime drinks lots of water, up your fiber and walk....those usually help me....but call your ob too
