DC's w/ reflux

was/is congestion also present?  DS has been congested for 2 weeks now and at first we thought this was a cold but he is now aldo showing signs of discomfort while/after eating.

    DD was hoarse sounding for a while which disappeared when she started her reflux meds. Her doctor told us that congestion is a symptom of reflux.

    DS often sounds congested. Ped. said this was normal with reflux.

    Yes, congestion can be a symptom and DD is often congested-sounding.  When she breathes you can hear it...though the meds have helped (she is on Pepcid).

    My DS did. I actaully thought he had a cold and then the doc told me it was reflux (he has silent reflux; he doesn't really spit up much - it come up to his throat and then goes back down creating the "congested sound"). Google GERD and the Sx will probably match alot of you dc's Sx. Talk to your doc but I started putting rice cereal in his bottles of EBM (1tsp/4oz) and that helped alot. I still have to do that many days. But we're lucky that his reflux isn't that bad.
