We are having the hardest time trying to figure out what we are going to name our little guy. We have 15 names on the list and 10 weeks to go. That is, if I make it to the end. We like the names on our list but nothing is jumping out at us as "THE NAME"
Is this normal?
Re: Choosing a name
we were that way. addison was the only name we agreed on. i wish i had one that really stuck out to me, but we didn't. we're both happy with her name now.
although lately she's been telling us her name is Annie.
Sometimes you just have to wait until the baby is born and "feel" what the right fit is. They won't ask you for the name until a day or two afterwards so maybe you can wait until he comes!

We got ours down to 5 names. We had the middle name picked out and DH printed out a page with all 5 full names that we'd stare at and see which one "looked" best.
Any name that either of us was having any reservation about got tossed and we just ended up on Cason.
We also tried each name in practice... how it would sound when we were saying it in various situations (angry full name usage, cheering him on in sports, etc).
Another thing we did was went on the census website and saw what ranking each name had in popularity. We had various reasons for doing this beyond not wanting a too popular name, but maybe that will help you.
This... If it fell in the top 100 we threw it out.... Luca was much easier thatn Lila. I had to fight for it!
for some reason the mental image of this is you two sitting alone in the bleachers yelling random names towards an empty field. it made me laugh, it's a good idea though!
maybe because people say "the backdoor test" where they picture themselves yelling it out the backdoor.
We were both on the same page when we named our daughter and had no conflict at all as we both knew it was the perfect name for her. However, we've had a much harder time choosing a name for our son. We went through several months of not having any ideas until I came up with one I really fell in love with. My husband's not convinced it's the right name and he's found another that he likes that I'm unsure of. So, I might be spending the next 15 weeks convincing him to like my name choice!
It is hard!
I wouldn't have been surprised if my DH suggested this... God help this kid if he doesn't like sports!
