Out of the mouths of babes (ouch mentioned)

I was at Marshall's, and this dad and young kid were behind me and talking about the kid's "Aunt Claire."

And the kid kept saying "But they don't have any kids. But their married, dad. When you're married, you're supposed to have kids. Why don't they have kids? Married people should have kids."

The dad finally said "They want kids, pal, but it's taking time."

And my heart broke for poor Aunt Claire.

    I know. I so hope the parents have/will talk with him so he doesn't say anything. I almost turned around to say that, but it's too sensitive and I didn't want to make a big deal in front of the kid. He was seriously about 4-5 years old.

    A couple of months ago, my 5 year old neice told my SIL, "Mommy, you should have a baby and give it to Auntie. Her baby died and you have two babies, and she would be a really good Mommy." I'm tearing up just typing it.

    Poor Aunt Claire.  I hate loss & IF.

    Connor Thomas 6/6/08. Discovered missed miscarriage at 17 wks 3 days, D&C 11/25/09. Please, please, please - BFP 5/21/11, EDD 2/1/11. Beta@12DPO=52, Beta@14DPO=158. U/S 7/7/11 shows strong baby measuring a couple days ahead!!! Pregnancy Ticker

    Poor Aunt Claire.  I liked Dad's response, but I do hope he talks to him a little more about it.
    DD(9)DD(5.5)DS(3)DS(born 2/1/11) July 2006, lost a baby at 8 weeks, natural miscarriage , May 2009 lost Zoe Eliana at 17 weeks no reason known, possible under developed organs. Lost two more babies in September 2009 at 7 wks 4 days. Had myomectomy surgery to remove a large fibroid in November 2009.
