Actually I wore a bikini for the first time in a decade this year to the beach!! (Still was more comfortable keep the shorts on.) I went on weight watchers and started spinning sort of for preTTC <insert Rocky theme music>. I needed to be sure I'd be able to lose it after 9 months ...if I ever do get the opportunity to get a big, round belly!
So, I was feeling fairly good about my bikini'd self.. But then again I had cellulite even when I was a superskinny teenager. I guess I'm just over it!
Also the fake tanning lotion really helped hide some of those imperfections we all have, like veins and red marks and bruises that mysteriously appear from who knows what.
Oh and for what it is worth: I DID NOT buy my suit at a dept store. No grown woman's @s$ can fit in those bottoms! And even though I'm down to a size 6 jeans, my bathing suit bottoms are a size LARGE. WTF?! Anyway...I found the athletic ones at the sporting goods store (like for sand volleyball players) had MUCH better butt coverage. GL ladies. The suit sizing company is EVIL.
About me: A pixie in the city, 41, TTC #1 since May 2010, married 18 years.

It varies for me. I have both bikinis and one piece suits. At the beginning of a vacation, I am often in a bikini, but as the days continue and I have eaten and drank quite a bit, you will usually find me in my one-piece suits. It also depends on location, if there are hardly any "fit" 20 year olds with rocking bods, I am comfortable staying in a bikini.

I wear a tankini now. The last time I wore a bikini was on our honeymoon 4 years ago. I would love to get back to that weight, but even then I'm not sure I'm willing to show off my body any more (not that it was ever rockin').

I have only worn a one piece for most of my life. Even when I could wear a bikini, I found the one piece more flattering. I love a v neck halter style like this one:
I wear a tankini with little skirt bottom. I just like not having to worry about my butt hanging out. It does make pulling on shorts over kind of challenging, though.

Lately, I have worn a one-piece because of my gut (all the women in my family carry it there). :-( BUT with my recent weight loss(20lbs), I can now fit into my bikinis!!! Of course that happens just as I start IVF#2 or #1.5 as my DH likes to say. I do believe that I will get back to that bikini bod while wearing one is still age appropriate though...or at least that is what I tell myself. :-)

Me too! Past few years it's been a tankini for me and just last year I got a skirt bottom.

Wait! This sounds like I go in my birthday suit. That is not what I meant, I meant, I avoid doing things that means I have to wear a suit...luckily my husband doesn't like water so it's worked out well.

I actually have only worn a bikini once in my adult life... on my honeymoon, lol! The lol is because it was actually too cold in Las Vegas the week we were there to go for a nighttime swim/hot tubbing, so I only got to model it for my new husband in our hotel room. He didn't seem to mind though...
Otherwise, I wear tankinis or one piece suits... was always too self-conscious to bear my mid-drift.
I don't have the opportunity to wear a suit very often (it is cold up here in the PNW!), but when I do, most of the time, I wear a bikini. My two favorite ones were purchased at Nordstrom, mostly because they were the only department store that had any suits in December when I desperately needed a new suit for a vacation to Mexico. I let the sales gal help me out, and found 2 really nicely fitting, and flattering suits. I would recommend this shopping experience to anyone, as it was totally not traumatic, and the suits, while expensive, are well made and are holding up! These suits were not meant for teenagers (meaning not super skimpy). That said, I normally wear about a size 8 pant, and the bottoms I ended up with are size large.
I am 38 and over the past 2 summers I have started to realize that the bikini is not my friend as it always has been. I have stared to move into the tankini. I think the fact that I don't get tan anymore also doesn't help, it's amazing how much better you look with color. White skin shows ever inperfection. I like the nautica bathing suits.

I usually wear a tankini top and boy short bottoms....I like to have some coverage around my bum! LOL!
The kind that you don't have to wear.

I am always envious of bikini clad ladies!
(I have not figured out the "clicky" thing yet! Sorry)
Moving forward with Adoption 2017!

I wear a one piece... but, when I get to my weight goal, I will be finding a bikini to wear. DH insists LOL
And Chicken, you made me LMAO!
