New to The Bump

Brand new here and in need!!!

Hello everyone... I am new here and have a few questions. I am 26 weeks + 3 days pregnant with twin girls! I also have a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old boy at home! My hubby and I are very excited, but I am getting increasingly nervous for our older kiddos. Neither are displaying aggressive or bad behavior at all and both seem super duper excited. Just as a mommy you have a way of finding things to worry about... so I was wondering how to bring two new baby girls into this mostly boy home with out causing any or much turmoil? Also, my older son is going into Kindergarten this August and my younger boy is eligible for Pre-K since he is 3 years old. I dont want him to feel left out or left behind because his big brother is going to school, but I dont think I am going to have the resources to enroll him this year too. I am due October 15th and school starts August 25. With twins it is very common to deliver early so I could have the girls within weeks of school starting and other than my hubby and I... we have nobody to help with our kids because we just moved here... about 3.5 hours away from any friends and/or family! I am very worried about this... any advice would help!!

  • 1st off all CONGRATS on the Pregnancy.

I'm also pregnant with baby boy # 2 due in October 14th. I have a toddler boy whose 2.5 well be 3 years in October 21st.

You will have to adjust. I have friends who were in the same thing as you. At 1st of course it hard. But as two big brother they have to help and protect there little sister.

To be honest you shouldn't do school? Are you doing campus or on line?

  • Well... I'm not sure I will have the most helpful advise. (You might want to try posting this on the multiples board, too) When we brought home DS, DD was almost 5. She was really proud and excited at first but then the "newness" wore off... She started acting out and doing anything she could think of for attention. It was a transition for her, she had been the one and only for all she could remember. You will have that on your side that the two boys are close in age and have each other. Change is scary for most, but just keep reminding yourself that you guys will find a new "normal" in no time!! GL ;)
