food adversions....

I have acquired an adversion to meat (any kind really chicken, hamburger, steak,on and on)...it makes finding something I like kind of hard.  It seems my brain knows I usually like meat but when its in front of me or I take a bite, it just doesnt tast right and the ol stomach doesnt like it!  Guess I will have to start liking my veggies !  What kind of adversions does everyone else have?

Re: food adversions....

  • Most of my aversions have gone away recently, thank god. I had to disguise meat in unhealthy ways...chicken nuggets and enchilladas helped me get some protein in.

  • My aversion is mostly meat, I can't really even think about it without feeling sick.

  • Well I  still love me some meat, but my aversion is to vegetables. Right now I can't tolerate Broccolli or beans. DH is getting concerned cause I was never a big fan of veg to begin with and he thinks its critical for me to be  eating them. Wants me to start drinking V8 Splash.

  • Fish is my aversion.  Totatlly suprised me.  DH was cooking some, and it turned my stomach.  I figured it was just that batch of fish.  That was until I went to the grocery store and had to run through the seafood department!

  • I am completely disgusted by the thought of chicken.  Ground meat is really the only meat I can think about eating.
  • I looked at the V8 splash, but had high fructose corn syrup so I'm drinking Ocean Spray lite fruit & veggies.  I haven't really had food aversions, but the smell of cleaning products is making me sick.  Which is bad because I think I'm already nesting (cleaning something different every day).  Even the soap to wash my dishes is making me ill....have to try to find some unscented or something.
  • meat. beef is the biggest offender.
  • I feel like I'm averse to everything lately... it's driving me crazy. No meat of any sort (chicken and fish included), and lately carbs/grains haven't been sitting well either, which basically leaves dairy, fruit, and veggies. So I eat a LOT of cheese and yogurt for protein. Peanut butter seems to sit okay too, in small doses.
  • I really wanted spaghetti for dinner (my mom makes good spaghetti) and as I started eating it, my stomach didn't really like it so much... I ate it, but by the end I was kind of nauseous.

  • I cannot tolorate milk..... And meat can be iffy --- I may want it or think it is great but by the time I eat it it makes me ill.
  • i am already a vegitarian so the meat thing dosent bother me.... if anything im craving turkey...  praying that the morning sickness will be over with at 8 months and I can enjoy thanksgiving!!!

Pebbles82 i am already on the v8 track... v8 splash has a bunch of high fructose corn suryp so i have opted to use v8 infusion which is basiclly just the frutis and vegies... i am drinking a glass now and the tomato flavor is making me gag... but the baby needs  the good vitamins and its better than a plate of cooked veggies to my stomach... i havent been able to eat fruits or veggies for about 3 weeks now and this is my suppliment... needless to say being a veggie... cutting out fruits and veggies... i am only eating bread... which is fine bc my ms is still pretty bad...  just praying the baby doesnt come out all deformed from all this v8! haha

  • I drink the V8 infusion too.  It's very good without the corn syrup.  I cannot eat pork or fish!  Well, I can't cook the fish.  If it's cooked and really fresh (without the fishy smell), I can eat it.  Eggs turn my stomach.  Unfortunately I can only have protein in the mornings due to GD, so I literally choke down the eggs.  My mantra "It's good for the baby.  It will be over in 6 months."  :o)  Smells really get me though.  It's amazing how your sense of smell is to keen during pregnancy.  I work in a hospital...all kinds of bad smells.  Sometimes I have to walk away.  :o)
  • white bread (including bagels, but not pizza) and black beans.  Wheat bread and pinto beans are fine, as long as I don't smell the latter before it's cooked.  I also can't stand the smell of cold spaghetti sauce.
