I had a lump in 2007. It was hard and about the size of a quarter. It was firm and non-moveable. It ended up being a fibrous tumor, but I did have a lumpectomy rather than just a biopsy.
Edit: My advice would be have it checked ASAP. You don't want to take any chances! Not to be scary, but most lumps that are cancerous are found in the armit/upper area of the breast. It's always better to be safe than sorry, IMO.

I'm definitely getting to the doctor this week. In the past week or so I found a hard pea- sized lump in my armpit. It doesn't move or anything... just trying to gather some info before heading to the doctor.
My SIL had one in her underarm like you described and it ended up just being a cyst that they let go for a while and it went away on its own. It's probably nothing but I'd get it checked for peace of mind, good luck
I had a hard, painful lump when I was about 19. I went to the doctor, who ordered a mammogram. It took three months for my insurance to approve the procedure because I was "too young" to need a mammogram. Once they finally approved the procedure, three different technicians refused to perform a mammogram on me because I was "too young to have breast cancer". Several ultrasounds later, I finally had a mammogram which confirmed that surgery was needed. By then, the tumor was grapefruit sized and too big for an in-office procedure. I had to have it removed surgically, and didn't find out that it was benign until the surgery was over. It was terrifying.
My best advice? Get it checked out, and advocate for yourself.

I was 19 as well, but didn't have any issues with insurance. My PCP referred me to a well-known breast surgeon who told me a mammogram was useless because such young breast tissue is very opaque on radiography and it probably wouldn't reveal enough of the mass. So I had an ultrasound to determine if it was a cyst or something else that would need biopsied. The surgeon thought it was a fibroadenoma (fibrous tumor) and I didn't HAVE to have it removed. I did though... quick outpatient procedure with minimal anesthesia.
Go to the doctor and don't worry until there's something to worry about. GL... and keep us posted!
Wow, I'm in the 19 club as well. I discovered mine right around my aereola, it was about the size of a quarter, hard and wouldn't move. I had a consult with my Dr as soon as I discovered it, was sent for an ultrasound, then met with an oncologist, and had a lumpectomy all within the matter of 3 weeks. It was benign, as so many are, but that doesn't mean you should neglect it. It's worth a quick trip to get it checked.
Re: nbr- If you've ever had a lump in your breast...
I BF, but it's not a clogged duct (thought of that). It's actually in my armpit, not so much my breast.
I realized after I answered that wrong. I know there are ducts there, but I've had several clogged ducts, and this is totally different.
