Hi All - I wanted to introduce myself - I've lurked on here for quite a few months now. I'm 35 and we've been trying since October for #1 with no luck - I have a very optimistic doc (maybe a little too optimistic I'm starting to think - she said give it a year before any testing). In any case - just bought the clear blue easy monitor - hoping maybe that will help with AF arriving any day. Anyone have any luck those? Also - should I be bothering my doc to start testing us to see if we have problems? I'm starting to think a full year is a long time to wait at this point in my life.     I waited nearly the full year and could kick myself for the lost time.  So I'm obviously of the school of "Go after 6 months if you are 35+".

    Hi and welcome. The ladies on this board are soooo nice!!!   We went our pre-conception visit back in March and my doctor said if not pregant by july to come in to start the "testing", we hav appt set for Aug 4th!

    Welcome - I hope your stay is short.  I agree with others, you should test after 6 months.  Good Luck to you.
    TTC since 3/07. IVF#1 = canceled. IVF#2 = 0% fertilization. IVF#3 = BFN. IVF#4 = c/p.  
    Moving forward with Adoption 2017!

    Hi I'm new here too.  On my first real TTC ObGyn appt my dr said everything seems normal but go to a fertility specialist right away anyway.  That was 2 weeks ago.  I'm beginning to think it was because it will take 12 months just to get an appointment!  (They still haven't called me back to schedule.)Anyway, the "right away" directions might be because I'm all the way at 41 but it doesn't seem like it would hurt to go sooner rather than later.  IMHO.

    Great to meet you too and looking foward to getting to know you and everybody on the board, too.

    About me: A pixie in the city, 41, TTC #1 since May 2010, married 18 years. Diagnosed with, surgically removed, endometrioma Aug.2010 Sept 2010 IUI #1=BFN, Oct=cyst/bfn, Nov 2010 IUI #2 = bfn. Had to postpone IUI #3 b/c of a cyst natural=BFN. Skipped IUI #3, decided to go for IVF. Found/removed uterine polyps Jan 2011. IVF cancelled, no follicles.
