First Response vs. Dollar store cheapies.

Good morning ladies, I know this has already been asked a lot around here but.....

I tested two days ago with a First Response (not digital) and got a faint second line! While I am overjoyed and over the moon and so thankful to all the help and support I got on these boards.... I'm not one to test my sanity on one pee stick. So, yesterday I tested with FMU with a dollar store cheapie. BFN. Not one to be dissuaded by the possible decreased sensitivity of the dollar store test, I bought a First Response digital this AM... only to read the test box wrong and get no result. (I know, I;m an idiot... it was early and I really had to pee... and oh forget it, I'm just an idiot). SO I wait until tomorrow to test again, but has this happened to anyone else?

And yes, I know my chart thinks I'm only on cycle day 13, but I was doing a lot of traveling, weird temp timing and I think I actually O'ed a couple of days earlier.

I have no advice on this, as I refused to test earler than when my period was expected. At least if your period is late, you know that the test will most likely be accurate. KWIM?

I would go get another couple of tests and take both of them today. If you are really pregnant, it should come up positive. Just wait to pee for a couple hours (meaning let the pee be inside you a while).

It's a better idea to wait till your missed period! Then you don't make yourself crazy like this! I've been pregnant twice, used dollar store tests both times, but not till after my missed period. False positives don't exist, but chemical pregnancies do, that's one of the main reasons you should wait.

Eh, I'm not patient enough to wait until AF like some people since I obsess over it anyways. I got bfp at 9dpo with DS and 8dpo with this one. Both of those were early evening tests and both times the following morning said "no". Just hold your pee for 3-4 hours and do it this afternoon.

I got the worlds faintest positive on 7dpo, then 8, 9 etc. All with FRER. I didn't get a line on a $$ tree until about 12 dpo.... I hate them!

Yes, I used a Dollar Store test at 10 DPO. I got a neg. I used an internet cheapie at 11 DPO and got a neg. I used a FRER at 12 DPO at night and got a faint BFP. Used a digital at 13 DPO with FMU and got a + as well.

Thanks ladies! I just tested again with both a dollar store and a First Response... still negative on the dollar store, still positive on the first response.So I guess I am officially joining all of you in first tri!

I am 2 days late on my period also, so just not sure about those dollar store tests

I had the same thing happen to me. I used a FRER and a Dollar Tree on 12dpo and only got a positive on the FRER. I had to wait two more days to see a faint positive on the Dollar Tree.

with this pregnancy i got a positive on first response bf dollar store, the dollar store one didnt show positive until 3 days after the first response.

so id say congrats are in order

This is my 3rd and I've only used dollar store tests. ?I was 11 days late when I tested last week and the 2nd line came as soon as the pee was put on the test. ?I'd wait and take another test.

I got 4 positives with the Dollar Tree brand at 4 days before AF was due. Then I took 2 FRD the next morning just be sure and got a "Yes" on both.

Test again, and if it is still negative, then I'd wait until after AF is due...it may be too early to detect your HCG level.

I used dollar store tests with both my pregnancies. It come up positive 4 days before my period was due with baby #1, and on the day of my missed period with baby #2 (didn't take it earlier than that). Every other time, it came up negative, which was correct because I was not pregnant. I have no advice for your situation, but I do hope everything works out for you.
