Strange symptom: leg discomfort?

Anyone else have this?  I don't know exactly how to explain it, but when I try to lay down to sleep, I feel like I don't have enough circulation in my legs or something.  I've always been (at least part-time) a side-sleeper, so it doesn't seem like that could be it, but I don't know.

When I lay on my side, my hips kind of hurt and I can't get my legs in a comfortable position.  I've been up since 3 AM. =(

Any suggestions?

Re: Strange symptom: leg discomfort?

  • It's pretty normal.  Have you tried pillows?  Under/between your legs?

  • no advice, just commiseration.  I can't find a comfortable position no matter how many different pillows I wedge between my legs or under/next to/around me.  It's awful.  If I lie on my back (yeah, I know, bad), I get very short of breath.  If I lie on my stomach, I get very nauseous.  And lying on either side causes hip pain and what I'm guessing is the same leg discomfort you're feeling - I keep feeling like I have restless leg syndrome!

  • I've tried various combinations of pillows in and around my legs, but no luck so far.  I'm going in BBB in search of a snoogle today.

It does make me feel a little better to know I'm not alone.

  • whatever those pregnancy pillows are called, I highly recommend those.  Or just a body pillow you can put between your legs and under your belly.
  • the leg discomfort sucks, I think the snoogle does help some, what I 'm not looking forward to is the Charlie Horses, when I was pg with #1 I would get them multiple times a night in the 3rd tri, and that's totally normal too
  •  I got the snoogle and LOVE it!  I was really hesitant at first because I didn't want to waste money, but it's AWESOME!  I can finally sleep!

I know mine doesn't carry it in store.  I had to order online and it took a week to get to me.  I hope yours carries it.  GL

I called mine and they do not carry it in store either -- I had to go to BRU to buy it off the shelf but target had a version on the shelf as well.  I even tried walmarts web site (I do not like to shop there) and they did not seem to carry it in store either.....

  • I got my Snoogle at BRU, but they also have them at Destination Maternity/Motherhood

  • Similar experience - when I sleep on my sides as instructed, my arms and hands go numb. And I've had a few issues with sudden leg pain, or itching legs/feet. Overall, I'm just a crappy sleeper.
