school uniforms

For those of you whose DC wears a uniform for preschool, how many of each item do you recommend buying to start with? We will have to buy the clothing from Land's End and there are different options for the uniforms .(there are a couple of choices for each item for us to choose from as far as colors )

DS is 3 and will have to have a change of clothes in his backpack at all times in case of an "accident" or if he gets dirty. The preschool is 5 days a week as it is part of the preparatory school and runs on the same schedule.

I'd like to start ordering outfits soon, but I'm not sure how many to buy since he grows so quickly. I'd hate to buy a lot now and then have to buy the next size in a few weeks/months but I'm also not sure what the practical amount would be.
