DH and I have disagreed about boys names since we have dated. He has some serious hang-ups about names- he REFUSES to name our child anything that can be shortened. DH's name is Tony. Not Anthony- TONY. lol.
Every name I suggests he shoots down- every name he suggests is just blah.
HELP!
Our short list- which we both don't HATE is Chase, Logan, and Jack. Honestly- i don't love any of them. Any other suggestions?
It's weird because Gisele was Gisele from the second we knew it was a girl- we agreed upon that before we even started TTC. (after his mom). It sounds silly but I feel that it is harder to bond because this child is nameless-
He refuses to name the baby after the only boys name that i really love which is Ryan (which can't be shortened)--- because he had a stinky roommate in college by that name. I told him- I am sure the dude doesn't smell any more- get over it. blah.
Re: -This baby is NEVER going to have a name-
Oooh, I get name diarrhea with these types of posts.

DH nixed most of them- and we have a lot of nephews with some of the same names in Dr.L's reply and a neice Kylie so Kyle is kinda out.
I don't mind Bryan/Brian. DH said no. Miles is on the fence with me. Why do boys names have to be so darn hard?>
I LOVE Ryan but can't stand Bryan/Brian. Yuck!
It's funny how just knowing someone in first grade who looked funny can ruin a name forever.
DH and I can come up with a hundred boy's names we agree on, but not-a-one girl name.
Good luck!!
chase
logan
jack
connor
justin
You know that guys just call each other by their last names, right? ;-)
I know boys names are hard! Before we knew DD was a girl we were so concerned with finding another boy name. We did come up with one but it took some work.
Is Tony completely opposed to choosing a name that could, in theory, be shortened but just use the full name? Or is he concerned with what might happen come school time?
Are there any family names you can delve into? A grandfather? Great-Grandfather? Or else, you might have to do the ol' coin flip in the delivery room;-)
We had a hard time deciding on a boy's name, too. I seriously sat down with a used copy of a baby names book (something about "Classic Baby Names" or "Baby Names from Literature" or similar) and flipped through it whenever I had a spare moment. Eventually, the page landed on Miles, and it just . . . felt right. It sounds cheesy, but that's what worked for us. Boy's names are hard.
Good luck!
While Elliot can't get shortened, I do get worried he'll get called smelliot. Not that he will smell, and because of this I will make sure he has impeccable hygiene, but kids are kids.
Let's see...James, Brad, Brent, Skylar, Sylas, Eli, Luke. I'm bad at this. Elliot was the one name we knew from the start for a boy.
I love Silas and Isaiah. I wanted Lennon to be Lennon Isaiah. But much like you Stacy, my Dh freaked out because I had a hairdresser who was flaming gay named Isaiah. Men are so wacky sometimes.
I love, love, love Jack. For some reason it's just classic boy. Our friends recently had a baby boy Jack Riley.

We're naming baby boy Jackson (Jack), but our second choice was Logan.

What about something similar to each of those names? Like Logan... Landon, Justin... Justus/Justice, Chase... Jace, Ace, Trace.
Personally, I love the names Landon and Chase. Justus was DH's BFF's name (he passed away a few years ago) and Logan is my younger brother's name. I don't have any suggestions for similar names to Jack or Connor. Hope you find the right one soon!
What about Bryan/Brian, to avoid the stinky roommate connection?
Awe, Gage is our LO's Godparent's son's name. Love it!
I was going to recommend Gage, Grant and Grey since they are all G name like Giselle. We loved the name Grant but I think Logan was in our top 3 too. Its so hard to agree on a name!
