Hi there,
I've started doing some prenatal yoga, after having been a moderate yoga practicer before getting PG, and so far I've found the class I've attended and the video I've done (Shiva Rea prenatal) to be pretty easy. I didn't feel like I got much of a stretch or challenge from either one. I'm currently almost 22 weeks, and while I know I won't be able to continue forever, I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for a more challenging prenatal yoga workout? DVD's, Podcasts, etc? Have any of you stuck to regular yoga classes while you were PG? I was considering continuing with the Level 1 or 2 classes at my yoga studio and just talking to the instructor beforehand and listening to my body through the class. Thoughts?
Thanks!
Re: Prenatal yoga for non-beginners?
Jennifer Wolfe's DVD https://www.amazon.com/Prenatal-Vinyasa-Yoga-Jennifer-Wolfe/dp/B000IU36R6
But I would talk to your instructor and they should be able to modify poses for you.
I was going to recommend hers as well. Pretty good for non-beginners.
Glad I'm not the only who feels that way! Thanks for the recs... I'll look into the DVD mentioned.
My prenatal yoga class is a little on the slow side, but it's great for those days when I'm low on energy. I look forward to my relaxing and mellow prenatal class. However, I've also stuck with my regular yoga class and just modified/skipped certain poses.
