Trying to Get Pregnant

Rubella Titre & Waiting to TTC

I read a post about this awhile back, so I apologize in advance for a repeat question.  I got my results back on Friday from my Rubella titre and everything seemed to look good except the mumps portion, which came back inconclusive.  I am getting vaccinated on Monday, but am curious what your doctor's have told you regarding the wait for TTC after the vaccine.  One doctor told me one month while another told me to wait for three.  I'm curious, what have your doctors/ob-gyns advised you to do?  TIA!

Re: Rubella Titre & Waiting to TTC

  • For the Rubella vaccine I've heard 3 months.  Maybe go in the middle and wait at least 2 months?  Or ask again when you get the shot.

  • I was told 3 months, as well. I agree with Kdg. Ask again when you get vaccinated.

  • Doctors used to think 3 was necessary but the new thoughts are that 1 month is OK.

  • I had this same problem - one doc said 1 month, another said 3.  We split the difference and waited two.
  • you must wait 3 months.

  • Thanks for the feedback ladies!

I just spoke with my sister and she checked with the doctor who delivered her children.  He said one month.  BIL's sister is TTC and her ob-gyn and doctor both said one month.  I guess it depends on what research the doctor/ob-gyn is going with.  A lot of articles online varied between one month and three months, but it seems the more recent ones are leaning towards 28 days.  We aren't TTC until October, but in case we wanted to start earlier, I wanted to make sure we were making the right decision!  Thanks again!
