going out of town w/out LO...

I'm totally stressed, In two weeks I have to go out of town for one night for work. I am so worried about having enough milk left for my DH. I am pumping as much extra as I can each day but here is my question. I was really hoping to set the bottles out (in the fridge) but have them each premade so my DH doesn't have to mess with thawing out...amounts, etc. Any suggestions?? Its a lot of milk to have pumped for 48 hours!

I also posted this on the BF board. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • If it's frozen it has to be used within 24 hours when thawed, I believe so you wouldn't be able to premake for the entire 48 hours. . . that would also be a lot of bottles. . . do you have that many?

When I had to go away for a day, I made 3 bottles (that's all we have) and left the rest in larger storage bottles that he could pour from (it was recently pumped/refridgerated, not frozen).

Our DS takes 6 oz. at bedtime, so I made the daytime bottle for 4-5 oz. and DH just made an oz. more if he really needed it after a feeding, but my DS is a HUGE eater. . . I'd probably start with 3 or 4 oz. bottles if you're not sure how much your LO takes.
