So, I saw my psychiatrist yesterday for a follow-up to weaning off my Zololft. For the most part, we were both happy with how I am doing. There are a few hiccups - I'm having trouble falling asleep, a little more emotional than usual. Those things aren't that unusual, and as long as they don't get any worse, she's not worried. Here is the kicker. She said if I wanted to stay off of my meds, but needed to talk to someone, she didn't have a problem with I wanted to see a therapist! Am I being totally naive, or isn't that HER job also???? Can't a psychiatrist do talk therapy too? Please, let me know if I'm way off base here, cause I was totally blind sided yesterday when she said that. Thanks!!
