VBAC in Dayton

Does anyone know of a ob/gyn in the Dayton area who supports VBACs? I've tried all kinds of Googling with no luck.  I did find that my Dr for DD supports them, but they don't accept my new insurance :(

Re: VBAC in Dayton

  • Horlacher and Assoc at MVH.  I use both OB's in there (Dr. Horlacher and Dr. Wood), they are FANTASTIC, and so is the nurse practitioner. I had an unplanned c-section, and both said I was welcome to try a VBAC.

ETA:  MVH also has a natural birthing center(Family Beginnings) right there in the hospital if that is something that also interests you, both docs will deliver you there if you want to use it. I planned on using it, but circumstances at the time didn't allow me to.

  • My OB, Dr. Paul Pawlosky, will perform VBACs at Southview Hospital in Centerville. He is wonderful! I hope to try a VBAC next time because I had an emergency c-section with DD. GL!

  • I'm almost certain that my doctor does but I'm not a 100%. She's in with a few other docs though. She has an office in Springboro but their main office is in KMC.

MY doctor is Susan Komorowski (937) 296-0167; (937) 746-2020---I'm so sorry I don't know which number goes with which office but you can call either to make an appt at either.

  • Horlacher and Wood at MVH are supportive of VBACs. I do not go to Horlacher, but I've heard great things about him and have heard from a number of people that he does VBACs.

I go to Dr. P & LOVE him!!! I don't have any children but he has been great since the first day I went to him. I will say I have heard good things about Dr. K too. But you would have to see others in their practice and the possibility of like 10 other dr's at another practice in the even one of them is unable to deliver your baby from their practice.  I personally had some bad experiences with that practice and switched to Dr. P but never with Dr. K. Got all of that ;)

  • I had DD at MVH and started out in Family Beginnings, I really liked it, but after being stuck at 5 cm for almost a full day and strong contractions, my midwives suggested that I go to L&D for Pitocin.  I did, and ended up with an emergency c/s 12 hours later because DD's head was stuck under my pelvic bone.  I don't think they do VBACs at Family Beginnings because they don't do the constant fetal monitoring that they would need to with the other risks.
