My husband is deploying and I'm pregnant with our first child. I have OCD but was doing well for a while and haven't been on it for over a year now.
However, with him leaving soon and not being around, my anxiety level has been high and I have feelings of depression. The fear is draining every bit of happiness that I should have out of me. It's not a good thing for the baby or my husband and I. We should be enjoying this together.
I don't know wether I should take the Zoloft of not. Everything I've read online says it's not safe.
Re: Is Zoloft safe during pregnancy? OB says yes, pharmacy says no.
I took Zoloft with my last pregnancy. I just had to wean off it 1/2 way through my 3rd trimester. I was then given a pill minutes after I delivered. I have anxiety, OCD and PPD.
I'm sorry your husband is deploying, I wish you all the best. This is a great board and we all know how you're feeling

Did the pharmacist refuse to fill your script or something? I'd listen to your doc.
As with any meds and pregnancy, there's a balance between the risk and benefits.
I don't know exactly about Zoloft but I was on Celexa (which is the same exact "type" of anti-depressant, it functions in the same manner as Zoloft) throughout my entire 2nd pregnancy and I had the OK from my therapist and my OB. There was no effect to my babies due to the meds.
