I know you ladies are here because you already have babies, but we are trying right now (been laying low about the subject though) and I'm just getting frustrated.
I usually have a 34 day cycle and today was supposed to be my ovulation day (according to my ovulation calendar app). I am currently using ovulation strips, tested - and I'm not ovulating today. I didn't miss the boat because I have been testing since Day 1 (today is Day 21) of my cycle just to get a feel for things since this is my first cycle actually using the strips.
Now I'm wondering, am I missing something , doing something wrong, is there something wrong, shouldn't I have ovulated already? What really should I be doing to understanding the process? Is it stupid for me to be asking these questions? It's been almost a year off the pill (granted, I haven't really been trying to track until the last couple months) and I'm now getting to the point where I'm getting stressed, worried and frustrated.
Any tips you can pass down to me would be wonderful TIA!
Re: Can I ask a stupid ovulation ?
Those ovulation calendars are based upon the assumption that you ovulate on CD14 (two weeks after your period)...most women DO NOT ovulate on CD14...it can be as early as CD10 or as late as CD30! My BFP cycle was 38 days long and I O'd on CD26! How did I know? I was charting. If you don't want to chart I recommend investing in Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor...you POAS and it does the rest for you. Even if you do get a +OPK you won't know if you actually O'd unless you're temping since the shift in temp is the only way to know that your body actually released the egg. I'm always under a bunch of stress and this certainly does not help things...I never realized how frustrating this could actually be
There were a couple months where my cycle was 10 days longer than normal and than 7 days shorter, but normally I'm 34 days and I have been pretty spot on for a while now.
I have never charted or started temping so maybe that should be next step. Thanks for the link Lori, I will certainly read up on it some more. It just seems so overwhelming...why can't I just get an oopsie daisies ya know?? Everyone else around me has.
Ok...pitty party over. Thanks for the tips ladies, I knew I would get great advice over here.

Lori and Jaime had some excellent advice - I can't think of anything to add! Just wanted to say to keep testing, since the "average" day that most women ovulate isn't accurate for a lot of women.
For example, I would O between 10-13 days after my period, NOT 14 days. I also only had a 12 day LP cycle (the period of time after you ovulate); it's common for those to be anywhere from 10-16 days. So, for example, if you generally have a 34 day cycle, but only a 11 day LP, you wouldn't ovulate until CD23 - 10 whole days after when the OPK box thinks you should ovulate!
I used OPKs, but checking my CM really helped me to get an idea of when O was approaching for me (like Jaime, I didn't "actively" check my CM, just looked at the toilet paper when I wiped). I also looooved Fertility Friend - it made charting and OPKs so easy to keep track of!
Thank you ladies for the explaination on this. I never realized how frustrating and in depth this whole process could be. I never thought I would actually have to go through this process.
I signed up for FF last night so I can keep track of things. IF by October (my next OB visit) I don't get KU or I just can't get things on track, I will talk to my OB more. But at least I can go into my appointment with some facts of what my body is doing. FF really does have a wealth of information that I never knew existed
Thank you again ladies for your support, you all are just amazing and kind
