Woombie ?

Does anyone have one of these?

Right now we use the miracle blanket to swaddle, but he seems to loosen it up because he kicks his feet. He's getting a bit too long for it as well. He won't sleep well unless swaddled tightly.

I was just wondering how it compares to the miracle blanket. I assume it's easier to get LO into, which would be nice. It seems through pictures that it's really tight. Is it still breathable? (I'm concerned about sweating). Do you put LO into with pajamas on, or just a diaper?

Sorry if these questions seem silly. Thanks in advance though!

Re: Woombie ?

  • I am curious about it too.  I was debating between the woombie and the miracle blanket.  My LO can get out of any swaddle.  I am afraid that he will not like the woombie because he can move his arms but not be able to get them to his face.  I am afraid to use the miracle blanket because of how restricting it is (I know that is the point), I feel like it would pull his arms almost behind his body.  I tried the escape-proof swaddle off of you tube because it was supposed to be the cheaper version of the miracle blanket and I cried when he started screaming because it looked like it hurt him. I would love reviews on both.

  • DS sleeps in a miracle blanket but i leave his feet out and he still sleeps amazing!  try using it with his feet out.  it might work.  :)

  • I loved the miracle blanket at first. I was also worried about how restricting it was on his arms, but it's not bad and he seems more relaxed with his arms held that tightly. The issue now is that he's just getting too big/too active for it (He is 9 lbs and 22"). He has found a way to kick his feet around and wiggle it loose. It still stays pretty tight around his arms though.

I didn't know or think to try it without his feet. My concern with that is when he kicks his feet, usually it startles him awake. I guess it's worth a try though-thanks for the suggestion!

  • We like the swaddle-me.  Works great for us!
  • We use woombie and I would def recommend it. Wish we found these for my first.  But if you get the correct size it does take a minute to get her fully in with all parts out of the way, but way easier than the blanket swaddle for me.

We have the summer woombie, so it's more like a t-shirt material.  It also lets DD stretch a little bit more when she's wearing it, but she still can't get her hands out.  She sleeps a lot better when she's in it, but I have to wait til she's really sleepy to put her in, because she LOVES having her hands up by her face so she fights sleep if she's wearing it.  But once she's in it, it's great!!!

  • I just got the summer woombie and DS did not like it at all - that he could move his arms and not get them drove him insane. We use the swaddle me instead, although DH swaddles much better with a regular blanket.
  • That's one thing I think he won't like-not being able to get to his hands.

I found out the Summer Infant brand makes one very similar, and it's half the price. I figure I will try that out first and see if he likes it. I am also going to get a swaddle me blanket.

This kid is a little Houdini. We can't wrap him up in a regular blanket. No matter how tight we do it, 5 minutes later he has wiggled out of it.

    Thanks everyone!
