2nd Trimester

always uncomfortable!!!!!

So sleeping lately has been....a lack there of. I can't seem to get comfortable any way I lay no matter where I put a pillow. I'm having intense headaches all the time and seem to be the worst at night. I get up at 4am 6 days a week to go to work and get home around 3 if I'm lucky. I KNOW I'm not the only one but I need some advice on getting sleep!!!

Everyone keeps telling me "enjoy it now, enjoy it now, wait till the baby comes....get your sleep now."

But I'm not getting any sleep.....it's almost bed time...HELP!!!!

Re: always uncomfortable!!!!!

  • I feel the same exact way, I am 16 weeks pregnant.  It doesn't get any better.  I get leg and arm cramps during the night and have to get up and move around.  Sorry it's no help, but I feel your pain.

  • I am with Stephanie, I have been up since 3:45 this morning, and didn't get to 'sleep' til 11 last night. Needless to say I feel like crap! LOL I am going to try a bath tonight and have DH give me a massage to see if that will do the trick. GL to you dears!

  • For the headaches I recommend going to sleep with a cold compress on your head and an eye cover. ?It helps me a lot. ?Also ... sometimes I just sleep in the recliner chair. ?The only way I am comfortable in bed is on my side with a pillow between my knees. ?Hope this helps!
  • I recommend a body pillow!  Did wonders for me because it really does only get worse. :(

I would also suggest those two.  I was surprised with how comfortable I was by sitting up a little and sleeping.  And the pillow between my knees has been the best.  Also, you might want to ask your doc about anything that you might be able to take safely to help you get to sleep.  At one point I was taking unisom tabs (trying to adjust to work schedule) while I was pregnant but before I knew and my doc didn't say anything was wrong with it.  She actually asked if it helped lol.  GL!

  • I didn't have a problem sleeping the first & most of the second trimesters.  Now that I'm getting bigger, it's getting increasingly more uncomfortable.  That accompanied with the frequent getting up to use the bathroom through the night makes me exhausted in the morning.
