Help me complete my stash!

Okay, so far this is what I have

-5 gDiapers (not loving the fit, might sell)

-6 BG OS

-5 FB OS

-1 Thirsties Duo OS cover (just bought today to try and I'm not sure his legs are chubby enough yet)

-18 hemp inserts

- 6 BG inserts

-6 BG newborn inserts for doubling up

So far I really like the BG and I know they're having a sale right now, but I'm not sure that I want to put all of my eggs in one basket. I just ordered the FB today, but the one I tried I really liked. Not loving the gDiapers, will probably sell those. What would you buy to complete my stash? Thanks!

  • I personally love fitteds so I'd get a few of those to try out.  Plus they are killer cute.

    Any brands you recommend?

  • I'm partial to MonkeySnuggles or GoodMamas.  But I wouldn't buy the GMs from the actual GM site.   I'd get them from Spots or from someone I knew who was selling them.

Oh...and MS has awesome wool.  The shorties (2nd pic from right) that are on the main page are the same as the ones I bought from her.  LOVE them.

  • Yeah, I'd get some fitteds to throw in there. We liked pockets, but I'm glad we didn't have a whole stash of them. And I think you're making the right decision in not getting too many BGs; I definitely would NOT build a stash out of them. We liked them at first and then ended up hating them. Are you open to prefolds? They're a great (and inexpensive) way to beef up your stash. When we started nearly 2 years ago, we had 1/2 prefolds and covers and 1/2 pockets and then a year later switched to 3/4 fitteds and 1/4 pockets. That's pretty much where we were until DD PLd. You'll figure out what you like/don't like and what works for your baby. That's the great thing about cloth; being able to sell what doesn't work for you!

  • When you say "prefolds", what do you mean? Sorry I'm new to all of this CDing stuff. Is that when you use a prefolded CD or an insert and cover it with a Thirstie thing?

Ditto. We loved our GMD pfs. We started with the medium browns (which are smaller than I think they are now?) when DD was 5 months old. She was able to wear them all the way through PLing :) I've got 5 left that I need to get rid of, if anyone is interested :)

  • Get a few fitteds and prefolds (and don't forget the covers - I love Thirsties Duo covers - and Snappis for the pfs).  My favorite fitteds are Bububebes (B4).  You can find them on hyenacart.  They are a bit pricey new (I bought both mine used on Spots Corner) but I loooooove them.
