oops, guess I jumped the gun back when I was PG - I always considered it 27ish weeks. I think at 28 the MW made me start coming in every 2 weeks instead of every 4 so I just figured it had to do with some magic milestone at 27 weeks.
Another thing that I've looked up is weeks = how many months along. It appears I am 8 months along now, which makes sense as I've got 1.5 months to go, LOL

soo confusing! lol. i am 6 months (24 wks) along but i still have 3.5 months to go so that makes me pregnant for 9.5 months lol.

I know, isn't it odd?
That's because most pregnancy books/resources/etc. count 4 weeks as a month, but actually a month is about 4.3 weeks. Pregnancy actually does last almost exactly 9 months, calendar-wise (months being 30-31 days), but if you count a month being only 28 days (4 weeks) then yeah, its longer than 9. I don't count that way, though.....it drives me crazy, in fact! :P I say a month is a month, not 4 weeks!
Everything I read said something different, as far as when the 3rd tri starts, but I counted it starting in week 27.
re: the 9mo thing - if you throw out the first 2 weeks of the 40 week pg since you not actually pregnant since they start counting when you miss your period it does turn out to be closer to 9mo but that doesn't make any practical sense since the med. profession and lots of other ppl always refer to a pg being 40 weeks.
(Unless you are my SIL who thinks her PGs should be 38 weeks max, haha - when people ask her how far along, when she is due, etc she always says Aug. 15, but I expect to have him by the beginning of Aug. argh).
I always just said I'm "X number of months along" by subtracting how ever many months I had to go.

I love Hawaii!

26-27 weeks - I saw both in various books/online resources.
40/3=13.3 so 2 trimesters would be 26.6

that and the never ending "wait, pregnancy lasts longer than 9mo" question...
