Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What's a typical lunch for your 10 month old?

I feel like I just give Gabby random things on a daily basis when it comes to lunch.  She gets rounded breakfasts and dinners because DH or I will typically make decent breakfasts and dinners.  But lunch always seems to be me just throwing random finger foods on her high chair tray and I feel like it ends up being a snack fest instead of an actual meal.  Does that make sense?

What is your LO eating for lunch on any given day?

  • Oh crap, n/m... I just noticed this same question like 5 posts below.  Oops!!

  • We were doing whole wheat egg noodles with mixed vegetables for awhile 'till she got sick of it, we do a lot of pastas & leftovers, grilled cheese is pretty popular, as is a "sandwich" - bits of bread, lunch meat & cheese. I'll try to throw in some fruit if she seems particularly hungry. Dinner and lunch often look alike, I think, just on a smaller scale.
  • I'm pretty much doing the same thing, but I don't usually give DS "crap" finger foods.  It's usually pieces of fruit, veggies, cheese, some bits of bread/toast and the occasional puff/yogurt melts (Happy Baby Organics).

Other days I'll give him leftover from dinner, which is what I eat.

  • I do a lot of leftovers for lunch, so sometimes it looks a lot like dinner.  Or, I'll try and work in things I don't get in any other time: hummus on pita. An egg.
  • It depends - sometime grilled cheese on whole wheat, sometimes some left overs, sometimes pasta.  Always fruit.  She loves fruit.
  • I have a super picky eater.  The only fruit he will eat is grapes cut up.  So I usually start with that and then 1/2 a hummus sandwich or 1/2 a lowsugar jelly sandwich w/ cream cheese, sometimes yogurt or crackers etc

Reading your responses I realize how I've missed you guys, and I'm not feeding DD enough variety.

She typically has a banana with some toast, or some fruit and bread or cheerios or cracers.
