IUI question.

Did you rest the day of your Inseminations? I was planning on going back to work as we are doing 2 back to back and I am already at negative 20 vacation days for the year. I was just sent an invitation to go out to dinner the night we have the first one...do you think I should plan on going home and laying down instead of going out to eat?

    I had asked about post IUI activities. I work at a desk (all damn day) so I didn't think sitting around would cause a problem. I just think rigorous activities should be avoided, but that's about it.
    TTC since November 2009. DH diagnosed with sperm antibodies. IUI #1 = BFN IUI #2 = BFN On the road to IVF.... Egg Retrieval Jan 21, 2011 16 eggs retrieved Egg transfer Jan 26, 2011 Only 2 viable eggs transferred. 1 IVF, 1 ICSI IVF #1 = BFP :-) 10/3/11 No heart beat at 38 weeks: Our baby Jack became an angel 12/14/11 = natural BFP Rainbow baby Samantha Jacklyn born8/8/12.     My RE only told me to refrain from bouncing type activities like running for a few days.

    I was supposed to get one tomorrow and had planned to go hang out with my mom afterwards. Like pp said, I think it's just strenuous activities.

    Definitely don't let an IUI stop you from enjoying a dinner out!  I felt a bit crampy after my IUI's, but nothing that would have prevented me from going out, shopping, hanging out with friends, etc.  Have fun!!

    It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!
    Beta #1 (9dp5dt) = 206, Beta #2 (11dp5dt) = 438
    1st u/s @ 6w5d = 11/11/11 = ONE little bean! HB 120bpm!

    I was planning on coming into work after the first IUI but I was in terrible pain. I knew not to even try it for the second IUI, and I was right because I was in even worse pain the second time.  I seem to be in the minority though.

    I was told, "No restrictions whatsoever."  Having said that, I have a pretty physical job and would have gone back to work (can't say I wouldn't worry), but both of mine have happened on a day off. 

     I say go enjoy your evening out.  Good luck!
