Nanny recommendations

Can anyone recommend a wonderful nanny they have used in the past or know of someone through a friend of a friend, family member, play group, etc? We would prefer not to go through a nanny service but need experienced, trust-worthy candidate recommendations. First time mom-to-be looking for nanny placement in September and live in Hollywood Park. Any info or suggestions are much appreciated.

    I don't have a specific person to recommend, but several people have told me that they've had great success using care.com. Someone at my mom's school used it to find a nanny for her daughter, and we're planning to use it to find someone for our twins. It's not a nanny service, but there is a registration fee to post a job description and to have access to contact the people on there looking for placement.

    I also can not recommend anyone, but I used Care.Com to find my last nany and she was great!.  It's a great site.
