Nursery without a window?

Is it okay to have a nursery without an outdoor window? The room we're considering is fire safe because it connects to either side to rooms with windows (our bedroom on one side, living room on the other side). There is also an internal window on a third wall, but it is pretty high up. There is a ceiling fan. Are there any issues with this arrangement? At what ages would this be appropriate?

I sure hope so because that is our only option. We live in a convereted loft and the second bedroom is internal without windows. I am not too worried about fire however. The room is right next to the front door, which is 2 ft from the fire stairs. There is a ceiling fan and we have industrial sprinklers.

Check out younghouselove.com. The nursery they did for their sister didn't have a window, and they solved any "cavelike" problems by hanging up big mirrors on one wall that bounced a lot of light from the windows of adjoining rooms around.

We converted our media room into the nursery. I hope it's fine not to have a window because LO will not. On a good note, babies sleep better with pitch black and aren't afraid of the dark until 18 months.
