After reading the article below and post below, I was just wondering if anyone did this.
Cecelia's best friend is a 2 year old boy that I watch through the school year. His mom is a teacher and I love her. Anyways, over the summer she is watching Cecelia for me on Mondays - I drop her off right after breakfast and pick her up before dinner. And then on Tue or Thur, I watch her DS for her since I am watching another LO at my house those days too.
It is HEAVENLY! Having an entire day once a week to do whatever I want is awesome. Even if I am just cleaning or running errands, it is still so nice to do that without the guilt of ignoring DD the whole time.
So, even if you only traded kids with someone one night a month for a couple hours, it would still be totally worth it. And Dayton girls who aren't even teachers, I'm looking at you too - I can swap with more then one mommy. Haha.
I just thought I would throw the idea out there for all us over-worked Moms. ![]()
Re: Anyone participate in kid trading?
LOL. I would take you up on that. Although the way I initially read your post made me spit out my water.
A husband & 2 dogs
I can trump that....how about a trade for one loud chatty toddler, a messy, sometimes civil teenager, two cats, and a dog? Anyone want to raise?
Seriously, I would be interested in trading services sometimes if anyone else likes the idea. Maybe for occasional evenings out or weekends to get stuff done.
Does he wash dishes?
Sounds devine.. but seeing as how I can't even pee without P on my lap I don't think he will go for being away from me for a few hours and certainly not an entire day.
I trade with my SIL. I keep Carson on Thursdays for his therapy and she keeps Allie for me on Wednesdays when I have to work. I guess it's not totally the same.
I'd definitely be up for some sort of babysitting co-op or something in which we give each other a break here and there. I think it's great for the kids to get the interaction and experience of learning to trust another adult. Of course the free time is nice too!

No one mentioned trading husbands - I'm in!
Once I get my disaster of a house reorganized, I am in.
