I had my 28 week appointment yesterday.
Measuring 33 weeks. Oh boy.
I measured ahead with Mar from 24 weeks on (but not this far ahead0 and she was on the larger side of normal, 8lbs 5oz.
My weight gain is significantly less than time around and even accounting for it being my second pregnancy, I'm still measuring close to a month ahead.
Yikes.
A VBAC is probably going to be out for me, as one of the reasons for Mar's c/s was her being a little large for me to birth without complications.
The great this is my doc won't do a c/s before 39 weeks as long as we are both healthy. We'll have a c/s scheduled for her due date, September 28th, and if I happen to go into labor on my own before that, I'll get a trial of labor. If not, out she comes!
It's not my ideal birthing scenario, but if there's one thing motherhood has taught me these past 21 months it's that you don't always get what you want! Having an actual arrival date now has made me that much more impatient for her to get here and have her in my arms!
Re: big baby
hehe! She's just growing faster so she can get here quicker!
I had a much easier recovery with both my scheduled c/s, even though I had started laboring some (I was having contractions but like my 1st, they never intensified). So... a little silver lining maybe.
nice and healthy little baby on the way! i love those big babies!!
mine were both big babies too, each came at 38 weeks and weighed identical 9 pounds. my doc said my dh and i just make big babies, especially with my 5'3" body. and i gained less weight with my second one too. i was worried my dd would be smaller, but not the case.
luckily for me i had an induction both times and they went very smoothly.
september will be here before you know it.
This is very much what happened to me. We were full on VBAC mode until Mathis started to look big. My OB had me schedule a c-section within 4 days of my due date as a precautionary measure. I went in to labor at 38weeks 3 days and about an hour in to it, it was shaping up to be the same as my labor with Truitt so I went for the C.
No, it wasn't ideal but it was the card I was dealt and the C was a lot easier on me (on the front end) than the 1st time. My recovery was worse but I can tell you I am the *only* person I know whose 2nd csection recovery was worse. Everyone else was better off the 2nd time, so be optimistic about that. EIther way, can't wait to have another red headed baby in the mix!
V - what am I going to do if she doesn't have red hair? I don't want her to spend the rest of her life hearing what pretty hair her sister has ...
I know it's crazy, but this is a very valid fear I have this pregnancy, LOL!

Well, as a red head you probably know better than me, but most red heads I know hated their red hair for most of their lives. Adults can fawn all they want, but kids only care what other kids think. Doesn't make it better, though, does it? LOL.
