So I have recently started introducing formula to my 8 week old, he has been getting about 2, 4oz bottles a day and the rest of the time I am BF (did this with my last LO, formula during the day and BF in the evening, night and morning) but I cannot remember what the formula poops look like.
When I give him a formula bottle, he instantly poops..but it seems really runny to me, almost like he is sitting in pea soup (but yellow), I am mixing the formula correctly, but am wondering if this type of poop is normal...it just looks a little too runny to me...
Re: Formula babies poop??
Sounds like my LO, he is also a combo of BM and FF (usually in the same feeding, start with BM, then top off with F. I can't keep up with his voracious appetite alone!) My LO's poo varies from yellow to army green, and the yellow part always seems runny... the BM poo is always gonna be softer, like soft serve ice cream, while the greenish will be firmer (Formula poo)...
DD used to get a combo of BM and formula, and her poop was a little runny and loose, but as we phased out the BM, her poops became more solid. It should look yellow (darker yellow/brown if your formula is fortified with iron) and seedy, and the consistency of peanut butter.
