Sorry if this is a stupid question! But on Fertility Friend I have been spending lots of time looking at the chart gallery. I'm assuming "On Pregesterone" means On Provera right? Just confused because it appears most people start taking it right after they ovulate but my doc has me take it later in the cycle after confirming I'm not pg. Also, a few articles suggest taking Provera if you are pregnant could be harmful. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Progesterone is Provera Right?
Provera is a form of progesterone. Most of us are on a different type taken in suppository form that will help sustain a possible pregnancy....so charts you see that have the "P" from right after O to AF are on Prometrium, Endometrin, or Crinone. Provera is used when you don't ovulate to fake your body into thinking you have and inducing a period.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
This...Both are progesterone, but since provera isn't safe, it is normally only taken to induce a period. Prometrium is normally given right after ovulation is confirmed to help implantation, etc.

IIRC my RE said it's because prometrium is naturally derived whereas provera is synthetically manufactured.
Don't quote me on this, though.
