Do they allow the baby to be on their own schedule?
How do they warm the bottles?
What do they do with the formula or breast milk from the bottle if the baby does not drink it all?
Can you come in and visit at any time or call to check on son/daughter?
Turn over ration for staff--(you don't want your child having a different teacher each month, it happens at some places, if the director has been there long term chances are the teachers have been there long term)
Who supplies diaper, wipes, etc
Vacation time?
My day care has a cheaper rate for at the beginning of the week instead of the end of the week
Schedule of teachers in the classroom
who provides the foods when your child starts eating solids or what their policy is on starting solids
how do they communicate what happened throughout the day, e.g.--is there a daily sheet they fill out to let you know how your child ate, sleep, dirty diaper, etc.
teacher to child ratio?
Do they combine classrooms in the morning or end of the day? (I always prefer to drop my child off in his classroom with his teachers)
What activities do they do throughout the day?
How do they or you need to label person item, or their tracking system for bottles and such?
Hope this helps, I am sure there is so much more I am not thinking of that they will answere. The number one thing though is never go with a center that will not give you a tour upon you walking in the door, but makes you schedule one. Those are the centers that usually have something to hide.
what do they do in an emergency if they can't get a hold of you?
What is their sick baby policy? You don't want other sick kids around your heathy one
How many vacation days do you get? Are they paid vacation days for them? The same for holidays.
what is the schedule for the day while they are there?
Good luck it took me a long time to find one I loved. I chose in-home daycares, and this one was so bad, I cried right there and ran out. Go with your gut and heart.
Re: Question about daycare
Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head:
-Sick policy
-Is it licensed?
-What do they provide for you child?
Do they allow the baby to be on their own schedule?
How do they warm the bottles?
What do they do with the formula or breast milk from the bottle if the baby does not drink it all?
