How much should I expect this test to cost?  I'm having it done on Monday.  Thanks!

    I got charged about $1000 (before insurance).

     just make sure you get it done at a place that does a lot of them. I had to get it done twice because at the first place I went the radiologist couldn't get the catheter in. she was literally stabbing my cervix for five minutes before she gave up. they still charged me, and I'm contesting the bill. (we'll see how that goes!)

     I got it done at another place, and I literally did not feel the tube go in. and the test took less than a minute. absolutely no pain.

    so make sure you go to someone you know is skilled.

    oh, one more thing... I live in a major city (DC), so I don't know whether that would make the test more expensive.

    I just happened to have brought my medical bills folder with me to work today and went through my files for this for you.

    These were the amounts submitted to my insurance:

    Doctor: $500
    Radiologist: $31.90
    Hospital: $3046.00

    Total submitted to insurance: $3357.90

    I paid OOP: $252.42

    I live in MA and here is what it cost for my test.

    Radiologist: $332.00

    Hospital: $1,118.25

    My insurance will not cover anything for infertility so I am trying to negotiate a "Cash Patient Discount."  Most hospitals/medical offices will give you a discount if you have to pay out-of-pocket.

    I did this last week and it cost 400 for the doctor and than the hospital was covered by my insurance.  Looks like you are getting a range of prices...hope you have some coverage!  It isn't a bad test,  I was nervous but it was much easier than I thought.  Good Luck

    I guess the good thing about living in Canada......no OOP expense for me. I guess it makes up for the huge taxes that we pay.
    TTC since 2009 very frustrated 42yr and DH 40

    5 cycles of Clomid with satisfactory response=BFN's
    Fibroid removal Nov2010
    IUI Clomid #1 Feb 2011...BFN..damn it!
    IUI Inject's #2 Apr 2011...CANCELLED...low estradiol
    IUI Inject's #3 June 2011...BFN
    IUI Inject's #4 Sept2011...BFFN
    Lap Dec 2011...severe endo..cyst removed..some remains...
    IVF#1 Apr 2012 ....cancelled due to over suppression
    IVF#2 July 2012....6 follies...only 1 retrieved....BFFN
    surgery suggested to move ovary to an better placement but....we moved two time zones away and are financially and emotionally empty
