I've heard of it being common for 2nd time moms. Like if her friends want to have a small GTG to celebrate the upcoming baby, but don't want to do a "2nd baby shower" they just have a little party and bring diapers. I think it's a nice idea in those circumstances.
I am having a diaper party for my husband and his friends. ?It's sort of a barbeque/guy shower. ?It's just a chance for the men to drink beer and have a good time and bring me lots of diapers in the process. ?
I don't really understand the point of having a separate shower JUST for diapers... I got some diapers and wipes at my regular shower and I appreciate them, but a whole separate event??
Maybe you CAN return them, but I'd honestly rather have people buy me other items than have to return a bunch of diapers. The return line at my Wal Mart is always at least 20 minutes long.
excitedforlittleone... a diaper shower for your DH and his friends? and they agreed to this? my H would laugh in my face if i suggested this and i'm pretty sure his friends would balk at the idea.
I have a book that suggests to have one. It says to invite all of the fathers friends, and instead of bringing food and beer they bring a pack of diapers.
i've heard of a "pamper party" for 2nd time moms because diapers are so expensive. You bring diapers(pampers) and when you go to the party you can have pedi's, mani's, facials.....its just for fun and so the new mom can get some diapers. People can bring other gifts too if they wanted but not neccessary.
I'm not having one but I think its a nice idea. I would use a package of pampers if given to us.
I hope this is what it is, I heard on the radio of a guy whose new girlfriend wanted him to go to a diaper party with her. Totally NBR, she had a diaper fetish.
Megs - Actually he thinks it's a great idea! ?DH has a lot of single male friends who want to be involved and so this is why I decided to have one. ?To each their own!

I always heard about having a diaper party for second time moms. You bring diapers and wipes since the mom should already have everything else from the first baby. We were picky about our diapers (G Diapers) so we didn't get a whole lot, but my friend didn't have to buy any for three months since so many people gave her some. I'm sure that would really help out a mom who was taking care of another kid!
My husband and his friends are having one on Sunday. I think it is a nice way to get the guys involved. They are having it at BW3's when the Bears game is on and while i am at my friend shower. I think it is a nice thing that the guy gets to celebrate his upcoming child with his friends too. Plus, the guys see it as an excuse to drink beer and watch football!
why would you be against ANYTHING that is free?? who cares if you end up with diapers that wont be used, regift them or take them back...its not a loss. i think it is a good idea for 2nd time moms or a good excuse for a guy's shower or whatever.
I've known folks who have had diaper showers for a guys-only party or for second-time moms. I think it is a great idea, if you are into disposable diapers.
Re: what the hell is a 'diaper party'?
it's pretty OBVIOUS isn't it a party where just diapers are given
come on!!! this was too easy
yes but WHY?? i mean a party JUSt FOR DIAPERS seems a bit ridic.
i think this post is ridic LOL
when you have a baby every lil bit of extra HELPS
mrsayr, but what if you get 5000000 of a certain brand that does NOT WORK for your baby? then it's all a waste.

you can always exchange and that's why you usually tell them what brand you prefer --- just as if you were to register for it
i don't have a child yet and I already know that it's helpful to always get extra ESP diapers and wipes --- come on seriously!

I totally agree with you.
