S/O baby names (part 1 of 2).....

I HATE when parents give their kids a popular/trendy name and then ALWAYS preface it by saying "...but it was NOT popular when we used it. I can't believe how popular it's gotten. I swear, I've liked this baby name since I was in 6th grade...."

It makes you sounds so obnoxious and defensive.

    Totally agreed. You may have liked it since the 6th grade, but there was no one forcing you to name your child that.

    There are other names in the world. Get over it.

    I totally agree.  I've liked the name Madeline since 6th grade (when it wasn't popular) and now it's super trendy, so I won't use it.  If I DID use it anyway, I'd have no leg to stand on to complain.

    Agreed.  And I hate trendy names.  And I'm sorry if that offends anyone, but when people name their kids a made up word I want to barf.
