Hi ladies! My DH and I just moved from Germany to Braintree at the end of April (he's in the Army and he is going to be recruiting out in MA now) and we are expecting our first on Dec. 30th. We're very excited, and we love our new area! Still getting used to everything, and I would love any recommendations on hospitals/OBGYNs in the area. (I'm visiting my family in Milwaukee right now, hence why I haven't chosen a doctor out in MA yet). Ideally, I would like a natural birth, and while I'm certainly not opposed to a C-section if it's medically necessary, it's not something I want to rush in to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Re: Also new to Boston Babies
Hi There! Welcome to the neighborhood! I live in Braintree as well, and have for almost all my life - its such a great town.
As for an OB, I go to South Shore Womens Health - they are a group practice that has both OBs and CNMs and you get to make your choice! I'm going with the midwives, and so far I've loved every one of them with the exception of one.
They are associated with South Shore Hospital, in Weymouth, which is the next town over from Braintree, which has one of the best maternity wards in the region. They also offer childbirthing classes, which we will be starting next week!
If there are any other questions regarding the area, or if you want to chat in general, feel free to PM me
Thank you so much for the advice! I've heard a lot of great things about South Shore, so I will be checking with my insurance to see which doctors at SS are covered under my policy.I checked out their website, and I was very impressed with all the classes that are offered at the hospital. I would definitely like to take their childbirthing class, as well as the infant massage one.
We are really loving Braintree so far-it seems like a very nice community, and my DH's commute to work is incredibly short, which is definitely a plus! I will probably PM you at some point to get more info on the area, plus the names of your midwives (another route I was considering). TIA!
Thank you!
