Just sticking a little toe in to test the waters! I've been getting the preggie updates and reading posts since we conceived but this will be my first post - a little test run.
I'm discovering that pregnancy can be a lonely and confusing place esp. since most of my friends are not even close to parenthood or settling down and the ones that are live far away and are busy being parents themselves.
hoping a little community will offer some much needed support!
Re: newbie testing the waters
Your "test run" is insirational to me. I've been trying to figure out how to test the waters myself, but so far have made about a million tickers, and that's it
.
DH and I have been trying (TTC) for almost four years, so I've been hanging around just reading stories of other experiences.
This is such and exciting time for you and your hubby. I would suggest getting some more friends! You'll want to have gals that are doing this with you. I don't know where to point you though, other than church! I laugh when I say that because although church is not intended to be a social function, it can also be the foundation for many wonderful lifelong relationships.
Have a great pregnancy and thanks for puting this out there!
Amy
Thank you Amy! Those tickers can be a fun distraction!
I've actually been so sick that in my three months of pregnancy my hubby and I have only been to church 3 times and while we were there I spent the whole time burping (audibly), running to the bathroom and eating saltines. I felt so embarrassed and disrespectful. I think our friends in the congregation have given up on us.
Now that we can go public with the pregnancy I feel like at least if I am sick at church people will understand why. Time to reach out to the mamas in the congregation!
My heart goes out to you and your husband. It has always been a fear of mine that I would struggle to conceive. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. I hope the support of your friends and reading other women's stories on The Bump reminds you that you are not alone. Wishing you the best!
