"If you knew me well..."

(stolen from that new MTV show, play along everyone! you can be serious, or funny, or whatever....there's no right way to answer this)

If we knew you well, what would we find out?

Re: "If you knew me well..."

  • I grew up at age 12 when my dad hung himself in our garage.  This pushed me in school and gave me an awesome college admission essay when my grades were just below the schools avg.  (though still good).  Without my dads death I dont think I would have gotten into that college (which is where I met DH).

  • That I am a sugar addict.  Yep.  My name's emiannie and I'm a sugaraholic.

That I love to drive fast...real fast. (Don't worry I slow it down when Miles is in the car.)

That I am not very confident and am a worrier by nature.

And last, that my second toes are UBER long...like we're talking pinky fingers.  :-)

  • wow. I too think a lot about how our paths lead us....

If you knew ME well... you'd wonder where my tenacity with this infertility comes from. I rarely finish what I start (easily distracted onto something prettier and shiny) and I'm pretty laid back about just about everything. I suppose it's just driven by my love for Ava, and my desire to mother others, but my perserverence in this does not match my daily life.

You'd also learn that I'm scared of pickles. lol.

  • Fingertoes and pickles...ahh, the things we talk about on here.

You would learn that 5 years ago I had gastric bypass surgery and lost 120 lbs.

  • I eat like crap.  Really.  All I want to eat is junk food all day long.  I am completely addicted to sugar and sweets.  I've made some healthy changes for Ava's sake (I certainly don't want her eating like I eat, and it isn't fair for her to watch me eat junk while she eats healthy veggies), but I still have a long way to go.  I feel very lucky that my weight does not seem to reflect my poor eating habits.

I feel things very deeply.  TV shows, news stories, even song lyrics affect me to the point that I often can't sleep at night.  Layla Grace's story affected me so much that I had to stop reading because I couldn't stop crying for several days.  When things happen to my friends, I internalize them to the point where it affects me.  Silly things, like sweet or sad commercials, make me cry and will stay on my mind for days or even weeks.

I had to stop reading Layla Grace's story also.  The day I saw on the board that she had finally passed away I cried so hard. Before that I had kept up with Stellan's story and the story on Audrey Caroline.  When I stopped reading about Layla Grace and I vowed to never click on any of the blogs that people talk about on here that are so sad.  I just can't handle them and it makes me worry about dd too much.

  • That I usually don't eat breakfast until 11am or noon, sometimes even later.

So lunch comes around 3 and then I'm never hungry for dinner.

    I don't know why!

You'd know I could lick my elbow and stick my tongue up my nose and that I am pretty lazy when I want to be about ridiculous things. Though in general I am a super motivated person who can accomplish a lot. It's like I just give up over dumb things.

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • The first few months of pregnancy I eat all junk food because veggies get lodged in my throat. (Good excuse huh?)

I watch more tv than I care to admit.

I once aspired to be a broadcast journalist and eventually learned that I sucked at school ,changed my major twice and have finally found something that I love.

  • You would know that I don't veggies AT ALL.  Im not kidding I hate them...all of them....its very sad.  However, bc I never got use to them I force my children to eat them haha (mean mommy I know).  My kids eat ALL organic and me...all sugar.  Its bad....so bad I've started seeing a nutritionist haha.

Also now that I have a 3rd baby on my brain all I can do is look at baby items online....you would think I've never had a kid before.  And like today I went to the zoo with the girls, alone and I about lost my mind but I still want a 3rd child...I don't know whats wrong with me! =)

Oh yeah and I love Jesus....a lot! ;)

  • If you knew me well you would find out that I'm a huge procrastinator, I'm  always late, I'm good with numbers, I'm addicted to frozen yogurt, I'm a shopaholic and I love to drink beer & watch TV/sports. I think that about sums it up! Oh, and I have long second toes too. Tingers ha!

  • I didn't really want to become a teacher but it was the career my parents wanted for me.If we could justify the lifestyle change I'd give it up in a heartbeat to go to law school. (crazy I know!)   I spend an insane amount of time before having guests preparing so that it all seems effortless always ironing napkins and linens even though it takes hours. And you'd know I have 50+ bra /panty sets matching them to my outfit usually changing twice a day.
