So with my first pregnancy 4yrs ago I did the lamaze classes and did not use any of the techniques at all. My experience with pain was not bad at all and yes I did the epideral, it was also really fast and easy. ( shocking for a first timer for things to go so nicely)
This time around I didnt even think to take any classes I am just figuring that I might get lucky again. Although i'm starting to get worried because this pregnancy has been realy hard and with so many cramps and aches completely opposite from my first.
Also I had a hard time breastfeeding first time around and didnt even think to take any classes at all. I had only some help at the hospital the time I was there and at home I struggled, part of it was that I didnt have much milk to begin with.
I have been really sick this pregnancy, hi risk and so many things going on that again I didnt think to take any classes esp breast feeding ones.
Are there any good websites that I can read up on ( breathing techniques and bfeeding just in case I need it) or is it really too late totake any classes. (if there are any available in my area) I"m delivering at a new hospital and not familiar with it at all. I just barely took a tour and with my head in la la land I completely forgot to ask about it.

Re: Second time moms did you take classes this time around for BF and Childbirth?
I second Kellymom- it's a GREAT resource.
Also, check out the book 'So That's What They're For' by Janet Tamaro. It's very informative, light and funny.
For Childbirth, I had an epi and too Zero classes with #1, With #2 I did a natural birth, but didn't take any classes. I did, however, read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin. It was wonderful and really explained what your body does with birth, different positions for laboring without meds, and how to breathe/make low tones. In a nutshell, she explains that while there are many techniques and may different ways to labor, there is no one specific way. It also had several really positive birth stories. Even if you aren't planning a natural birth, it is a MUST read
I was just the same - took all the birthing classes the first time and didn't use any of it because my pain was so bad. This time I just took the hospital tour because I'm in a new hospital and no other classes. I think this time will be different for me though. I'm already dialated 3cm last Friday without feeling anything, and last time it took me so much pain and effort to get to 3cm!
The breastfeeding support group helped me a lot too, more than the breastfeeding class. I plan to go back there right away after LO is born. Can you take the hospital tour over again? I'm sure they wouldn't mind.
I recommend kellymom.com
