2nd Trimester

Even though I haven't felt LO yet, DH claims to have

Last night, my DH asked me to show him where the baby was positioned in my abdomen. When I told him, he began pressing around the area "to try and feel it."  After about a minute, he started YELLING excitedly that he felt the baby move.  He was so so excited, and I just didn't have the heart to tell him it was probably just a gas bubble.

Now I worry that he will tell people he felt the baby kick at 14 weeks and they will think (know) he is a complete moron.

  • Let him think what he wants to think- sounds like he is just excited. And hey, it's possible, right? Everyone is different! :)

  • I started feeling kicks at 15.5 weeks, and DH started feeling them on the outside at around 18 weeks. Even still at 20 weeks there are times every now and then that either I or DH feel a kick on the outside yet I don't feel them on the inside.I asked a nurse about this the other day during a trip to the hospital due to a fall and she said this was normal, and that within a few more weeks I'll be able to feel all the kicks on the inside and not just some/most of the time.

I think it is a little early to feel kicks on the outside at 14 weeks, but I guess anything is possible,

  • My husband claims he felt baby kicking a couple of weeks ago while I was sleeping.

I have felt fluttered on the inside, but haven't felt anything by putting my own hand on my abdomen.

I, personally, think my hubs was dreaming. Zip it!

  • Aw, let him think that he felt it; who knows, maybe he did. Surely anyone he tells will just be happy that he's excited.
  • Especially if he's just telling his guy friends... I know my husband's friends wouldn't know that it's too early either!
  • My response would have been "no dear, that's just supper moving"...  My mom tried to rub my belly when I was around 14-15 weeks, and I just turned and said "thanks for petty my intestines mom, but the baby is currently so low that there's no way you're touching me there".. and she just laughed.
