Hi ladies,
I'm in the process of relocating to Houston (Cy-Fair area near 6/529) and am looking for recommendations for OB/GYN, Pediatricians and hospitals in the area. I'll likely be 24-27 weeks with our first at the time of the move (late August/early September), and will be taking at least one or two more trips down pre-move. (closing on our house/finding a doctor/etc.)
I have a friend who is a pediatric nurse in the Friendswood area that suggested finding someone at one of the local hospitals that also had (rights?) at the Medical Center. Unfortunately she couldn't recommend someone on our side of town.
Any suggestions you could provide would be fantastic.
Re: Hi! OB/GYN and Pediatrician recs? (Cy-Fair)
I don't have any recommendations, I used Dr. Kirkman in Cy-Fair and she was great with my pg with ds but since then I really have nothing good to say about her and her office. Since her practice has grown even more since 2008, I would not recommend going to her.
I will say that I have heard that some OB/Gyns around here won't take new patients past like 14 weeks or something. So you might actually have a tough time finding one. I hope the search is easy for you though!
I live in the Cy Fair area (Copperfield) and I'm currently seeing Dr. Elizabeth Podoba. I love their staff and her nurse practitioner Rebecca. I've been pretty pleased with their office and the staff. No complaints and she delivers at the Cy Fair Hospital.
What is your current insurance? I'm sure I can think some recommendations at the top of my head when I use to work for an Ob/Gyn.
My OB/GYN is Dr. Nichole Cole of OGA-West in Katy. I too live in the Copperfield area but I think the short drive is worth it. Her office is right off I-10 which happens to be right next to the Katy Memorial Hermann Hospital. I haven't had a pg with her yet but love her for general GYN and TTC. She has a gentle kind manner. I got lots of rec's off this board for her. We use the Pediatric Associates of Cy-Fair on FM 1960. We use Dr. Salmeron and Rahda is the nurse praticioner we have used before. We haven't lived here long but I really do like these doctors. I hope you move goes well and good luck!

Thanks Ladies!
We have an Aetna PPO (I think the plan will be the same in TX), so it's a question of finding an "in-network" vs. "out-of-network" Dr.
I'll check with my insurance and start making some calls.
I live in the Cy-Fair area, but my OB/GYN is in the med center at Woman's Hospital - which is where I chose to deliver. It's a 30 - 50 min. drive depending on traffic, but it is our hospital of choice, and I LOVE my OB/GYN. If you decide you want to drive to the med center I would recommend her.
Here's a few that I know at the top of my head.

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34
