Working out - bladder anyone? embarassing issue

So at 7 weeks I went to a boot camp class that was too intense for me.  I was too out of breath etc but the major issue I had was the running up and down hill I felt like my water broke again!  I am so nervous now to do any other exercise class that requires jumping jacks, running etc for fear of peeing my pants.  I know kegels are supposed to help this but its just not there yet.... I want to share low impact workout but am hestiant with this issue!

  • Yep, this is a huge issue.  It has been getting better for me- so there is hope :)  I'm really bad at doing my kegels, but have been trying to do them when I think of it.  Also- this may be TMI, but if you and your SO have sex it can help because you will tighten those muscles which is a pretty good workout for that area.  That was a suggestion that my best friend had for me- and honestly, I think it is working and DH is super happy to help me work out :)

I'm sure that you're already doing this, but could you wear a panty liner or pad while your working out?  And make sure you pee right before you get moving?

I hope this gets better for you soon!  GL!

  • Me to I'm almost 4 weeks out and I did the 30DS dvd and sprung a leak. It's a little gross but it happened with my DD#1 and it got better, just takes a little while. Kegels and panty liners, going before a workout is a good idea to.
  • I totally have this issue, too.  I feel great and tried to go for a jog a few days ago.  I had gone about one block when I peed my pants.  (I had a pad on and so it wasn't the humiliating disaster it could have been, but it was still a fail.)  Anyway, I'm hoping kegels and time will solve the problem.  Blah.

  • Check out this blog.  She specialized in women's pelvic floors and she will rock your world when it comes to regaining and strengthening pelvic floor function.  I ended up with a small prolapse after pushing for four hour and was told I would just have to live with a leaky bladder for the rest of my life.  But this lady says otherwise and I am telling you, after following her blog and doing what she says, I am leaking far less often.
