I'm always being told that Asher is huge! I asked my pedi, but she says hes in the 50th percentile for everything, even his head...which people think is huge. Right now at 12 weeks he is 11lbs and 23 inches. Is this huge? Today a woman came up to us at the spinkler park and asked how old he was, I said almost three months and she said....seriously, well what a chubby little one you have!
Maybe my perspective is off...not that it matters but I'm struggling without how fast hes growing up and outgrowing his clothes....for some reason it really bothers me when people say this...its like I missed his infancy or something. I know...stupid! How big was your LO at 12 weeks?
Re: how big was your LO at 12 weeks?
Um, that is not huge AT ALL...
Lucy is 23.5 inches and 11lbs 8 oz.
He's perfectly fine...people just need to learn to think before they speak
My DS was 16lbs 5 oz and around 25.5 inches
My Little man was over 13 lbs at 2 months. People just don't know. Your DS sounds like a peanut. Don't worry about it, strangers are idiots when it comes to babies. I had somebody ask me if DS was 4-5 months when he was 6 weeks (he is not THAT HUGE). Some people just have no concept, or can't remember how big babies "should or might"be at any given age.
Eh just shrug it off.
People always guess that Coraline is 6-7 months old because she's a chubster. But she's 50th percentile in all categories. Completely healthy. People are just bad at guessing and open their big mouths without thinking.
Mio Marito per Sempre: Married 2009. SD is 12 yrs. DD is 4 yrs.
DS born 12/29/14
My LO will be 13 weeks in a couple days. She weighs about 12 lbs. I haven't done her height lately.
Most people say that she looks small. At her 2month appt she was 40th percentile for weight and 75th for height.
16 pounds at 3 months.
Being big, as a baby, isn't a bad thing though. I'm not sure why people are telling you to "shrug it off." I've never been insulted by someone telling me my baby is chubby. She is what she is. Some babies are big, Some are small. As long as they are healthy, why is that an insult?
my LO is very much below average... she's a peanut. at 12 weeks, she was 9 pounds.
