PNV ?

I started taking PNVs last week because I figured I needed a decent vitamin as I approach 30, plus I'm looking forward to having nicer hair and nails.  My question is this: How long until the benefit for my hair and nails starts to come?  My mom asked me tonight and I had no idea.  I figure a couple of weeks, but no idea.  TIA!

Re: PNV ?

  • Still waiting, lol. I've been on PNV's for about a year and a half. I never noticed a difference.

  • Hmmmm...that's hard to say.  I have taken a PNV for almost two years, and I do notice subtle improvement in my hair and nails.  Not a lot, but enough to notice.  I don't think you'll see a difference in a few weeks, but give it a couple of months.
  • I never really noticed a difference either, but I've always had super thick hair.

  • I noticed it the most after I got pregnant despite being on them for over a year prior.  I think everybody blames it on the PNV because most people aren't on them until they get pregnant (that is quickly changing due to more doctors recommending them prior) so they don't realize that it's the hormones plus the vitamins and your body using the vitamins more efficiently.  Just my opinion anyway!
  • I've been taking PNVs for 4 years and never saw a change in my hair and nails.

My nails have always been strong, but my hair has always been thin and lifeless. Even pregnancy didn't change that for me (and in fact, my hair is STILL falling out).

  • I've been taking PNVs for about two years and I haven't really noticed a difference either, but I've always had pretty healthy hair and nails.  When I was pregnant I didn't seem to lose as much hair as I normally do, but that was because of the pregnancy hormones not the PNV.

  • No change for me either until I got pregnant...then my hair and nails were fantastic...until I had her and all my hair fell out.
  • I think it's the combo of being pregnant and taking them.  When people talk about it, they are probably pregnant as well, so that's why it seems like they make your hair and nails awesome.  I loved my hair while pregnant--"my luscious pregnancy locks"--but now I hate it (and am still taking PNVs for nursing).
  • I have pretty weak nails. I had been taking PNV for about 6 months prior to getting pregnant and I didn't notice a real change in the nails until I was pregnant.

As for the hair, it's lifeless and flat as ever. :(
