When looking for places that inspect car seats, our local police station was on the list.
Will they help you install it or just inspect it? I'm guessing if it were wrong, they'd undo it and put it back the proper way.
I'm hoping we get the seat at our shower on Sunday so my brother (a dad of 3 and a police officer) can help us.
Re: One more car seat question
It all depends on the officer. When we had it inspected before DD was born, we had the seat put in wrong and they were nice enough to redo it.
I've heard other places won't redo it for you for litigation reasons. They'll tell you how to fix it and reinspect it after, but they won't actually fix it for you.

Well, hopefully we'll do it right the first time. I watched a video on it and it didn't seem too hard.
That might be your area - but it's not true for everywhere. My local police station will install it. We always bring it to them with the car seat installed so they can check it. They then take the car seat out of the car and look it over and they re-install it.
I think it's a good idea to try it yourself so if you did it wrong you know what and can do it correctly in the future.
