Not completely happy about this. C-section scheduled for Monday, so she'll be born on her due date.
She's been measuring really big for a month, and I have absolutely zero progress. Not even a little. Not even any contractions. And baby is still waaaaay up high. After talking with my OB, we decided it was better to just to go straight to the c-section than to try to induce when I had no progress and potentially end up with a c-section anyway.
My little stubborn child is perfectly happy where she is, shoving at my insides and punching my hip bones.
Re: Eviction scheduled
Crossing fingers she decides to come out before Monday and no c-section for you!
If not, I hope it all goes smoothly on Monday!
In case I don't get to message you before then, I wish you the very best!!!
Can't wait to see pictures of your little girl!
I know the growth ultrasounds tend to not always be accurate, but they measured twice yesterday (the u/s tech and the peri) and the smaller measurement they got was 9 pounds. So the official recommendation I got from the peri, that my OB agreed with, was either induce this week or c-section at 40 weeks. They're starting to get worried that the reason she hasn't dropped is because she just may not fit, and they're concerned with potential shoulder distocia.(Totally bizarre to me to think about baby not fitting, given I don't seem to have a tiny pelvis.)
I think my OB knows I'm not thrilled. I think if the baby weren't measuring so big she'd let me go to 41 weeks based on our conversation last week. If I had any progress at all (I seriously have nothing at all) I'd be all for an induction.
I'm still going to see if I can't get some progress, though!
Wow....that's exactly what happened to me with my first LO. He measured big, there was no progress and the Doc pretty much had me freaked out about the shoulder distocia (sp). I did get a chance be induced, though a week early, but 21 hours of labor and I barely got to a 5 so I was strongly encouraged to get the c-section. I always wondered if I had a different OB if I would have been given different advice. I certianly wasn't happy about how things went either, so I feel your pain.
Good luck and I hope you progress some.
both of my kiddos were also big, weighed 9 pounds each and were delivered at 38 weeks with an induction because my ob/gyn didn't want them to get any bigger. i'm very petite and when my dd was born she thought initially she might have the shoulder thing, but she didn't. did take A LOT of pushing to deliver dd, but ds came right out in 15 min of active pushing.
i hope you're little one arrives on her own, but wish you the best with your c-section if not.
