Help! I need an endocrinologist! XP on high risk board
I went to see my endocrinologist today and she told me she has Lukemia and she will no longer be seeing patients. The other Dr in the practice doesn't take my insurance and the other 2 doctors that they are refering people to don't take pregnant women on insulin pumps. So, Here I am asking for help. I live in the West Houston area. I am willing to Drive as far as the downtown medical center if I have to. Please recomend someone if you know of anyone. Thanks for your help!

He doesn't deliver news or information with fluff or anything...but he's knowledgable and I think he takes pregnant women considering we discussed what he would do if I was to get pregnant again to monitor me.

A couple of nesties saw endo's when they were pregnant and so could probably give you a better reference.
I called the number listed and they answered "On Call Billing Services". Do you know of a different number I can try.

If you do go with Dr. Orzeck - make sure you tell them you are pregnant. He doesn't mess around with pregnant patients - he will monitor you like a hawk.

My dh went to Dr. Zia for a while and I was pregnant and going to Dr. Patel (listed in a previous post above) and he really disliked Dr. Zia. We weren't confident in him at all. My dh switched to Dr. Patel and we both really like him and are confident in his abilities and knowledge.
I was just reading the reviews online about him and they were awful. I personally liked him and never had any problems with him but it sounds like he may not be that great of a choice.
